Symbian Donna powered Nokia N10 Concept

The word "Technology"plays a main role in the lifestyle of modern human. As the technology gets more sophisticated ,we must get used to it and take the maximum advantage instead of living with out dated technology. One such things are Smartphones, not like those days, now we can do almost anything with this device that fits in our pocket. When it comes to Mobile phone manufacturing,there is one name that we will never forget. NOKIA, the Finnish giant. Nokia ruled the smartphone world for ages but now seems to have a little downfall as there were new competitors emerged like Apple,Samsung and Sony.

Before talk about the Concept, i want to express my idea about the future of Nokia. We know that Nokia made an alliance with Microsoft in recent past and started manufacturing smartphones which runs Microsoft Windows Phone. But the problem came when rumors spread on the internet saying Microsoft is making a Surface smartphone to follow the Surface branding.when this happened Nokia already dumped the Meego project, which is a Linux based OS project. So, What will happen to Nokia if Microsoft really make surface smartphone? The answer to that question maybe hidden in this Concept i have imagined. Meet the Nokia N10, a powerful smartphone with Echo Friendly capabilities.

If you check the UI on the screen, you will remember the leaked video of Nokia Air. That video inspired me very much to design this concept. Just like i mentioned on above, What will Nokia do to stay in the race after leaving Meego? their main OS Symbian is not up to date to compete with other mobile OS's such as Android and iOS. But in the leaked Nokia Air promo video, The UI in the Nokia device drew Symbian users crazy. they suspected including my self, it could be the upcoming Symbian OS.

Jolla Sailfish OS powered Nokia Concept Phone

There are so many mobile operating systems out there, Android, iOS, Symbian and Windows Phone are the most popular among the people as they used in a wide range all over the world. I'll take Android as the King of mobile OSs now. Have you ever thought some one will develop an OS to beat Android? well Jolla team has developed there new upgrade of Meego and named it as "Sailfish" OS. now the point is Sailfish OS looks like a Hybrid of Android and Windows Phone. Jolla team was able to demonstrate the new OS last week and it was so simple looking and no lags at all. So what i think is Jolla OS can give a fight with Android if it's get more further development.

Since Nokia dumped the Meego project, the developers didn't lose their hope for a Linux based mobile OS. They have successfully build the Sailfish OS and teasing Nokia now. I have made a concept for the Sailfish OS and it was running on a Nokia device. What i want to show you is how awesome it will be if Nokia didn't dump the Meego project. 

As you can see in the above image, i have used some Nokia technologies such as Pureview to the device. The design is also change to curved edges,not like the fully rectangular designs Nokia using nowadays for their flagships. I have seen many users saying that they need a physical keyboard for Meego based phones,i don't know the reason why they desperately want a one. so i have added a Sliding keypad as well. Lets see the full list of specifications.

Nokia Shuts Down Symbian Carla

If you are Symbian Belle user,you might have dreamed seeing upcoming Symbian update "Carla" running on your device.but time to say good bye to that sweet dream.Nokia Officials said that Symbian Carla has been cancelled.

An Italian Nokia fan website,Nokialino had a conversation with the product marketing manager in south Europe ,Mathias Fiorin and in this discussion he said Symbian Carla has been shut down. According to Mathias Fiorin,Symbian Belle will be the last Major update for Symbian family to get.

Have you ever dreamed that Nokia will teamed up with Google? Yes,before there were rumors ,but Nokia started a partnership with Microsoft to take both of their products to a high stand. Here is a Design by deviantART, Nokia N1,a handset powered by Android.

We know Android was already ported to Nokia N9 few months ago.and now the designer tries to show us how Nokia future handsets will look like. unfortunately this concept will be not implement in near future due to the partnership of Nokia and Microsoft.

Nokia Lumia 920 Pureview Concept by Jonas Dahnert

Nokia launched Lumia 900  for at&t couple of weeks ago,and here is a handset to follow the Lumia 900 series.combined the Pureveiw technology with Lumia design,this concept by Jonas looks natural and great.

Just like the old N9 design,Lumia 920 also follows the same design.we saw Nokia took the N9 design for their Lumia series.Lumia 920 features a 4.3 inch 720p Screen, which means it has a resolution of 1280x720pixels.the screen is bit curved and that is one disadvantage.screen will be vulnerable for hard impacts.

Microsoft launched Office Mobile for Symbian

As the leading mobile phone developer,Nokia started an alliance with Microsoft,the leading Application developer.As a result we saw Nokia launched handsets powered by Windows Phone.This time the Nokia-Microsoft partnership made a big step ahead by launching Office Mobile for Symbian.

 Microsoft Office is the most famous Document editing and processing application around the world.but for mobiles, Office was only available for Windows Mobile 5.0/6.0/6.5/Windows Phone 7 and 7.5. with the partnership of  Nokia and Microsoft,Now Symbian users got the chance to taste Office experience on their handsets.

Nokia Lumia 900 for AT&T Internal Hardware Exposed

Nokia Lumia 900 for AT&T is set to release on 8th of April and before the release, the team at TechRepublic revealed the internal hardware images of the device.

Nokia Lumia 900 is running Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. Nokia fans surely expect impressive hardware from this device.can it be a good opponent to Samsung galaxy nexus and Apple iPhone 4s with build quality? lets check it out.

Nokia Carla Leaked Screenshots

Nokianesia team  has received a mail with leaked screenshots of upcoming Nokia belle successor ,Nokia Carla.
How ever with the screenshots we can find out a bit, what kind of updates it will bring.
"Carla" is still the code name and can be changed in the future.the update targets Nokia 701, 700, 603 and the Nokia 808 Pureview.which means the update will not be available for the 1st generation devices of Symbian^3 such as Nokia N8,E7,C7 and C6-01

Nokia 802 Concept by Thair Joudi

The designer Thair has come up with a Transparent phone concept.it's for the Symbian fans as you can see, it runs Symbian Belle OS in the image below.

using a transparent material is a good way to impress mobile users.still its a new technology to the world,and we can find that Nokia is planning designing transparent handsets in future.

Thair didn't mention about the specifications of his concept.
that's it no much to tell about this one.

Android ICS 4.0.3 for Nokia N9

When Nokia launched the N9 handset,some people said it has a perfect design but the only thing missing is Android OS.thanks to the developers who worked in the NITDroid, now users can install a Alpha ROM of Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3 on Nokia N9.As you know Nokia N9 was designed for Meego platform.but now you can dual boot the Meego and Android if you installed this ROM.

Porting Android to Nokia N9 is a project named "Project Mayhem" and they successfully released a custom Android ICS 4.0.3 alpha ROM.you can switch between choosing which OS to boot with volume controlling buttons. here are the working features of the ROM according to the developer.

Nokia Lumia 1000 concept by Tasak

Nokia Introduced pureview camera technology with 808 pureview Symbian Belle device at MWC.And Nokia promised they will include the pureview camera technology in future Windows Phone devices.
the designer Tasak already made a concept on that.here it is...The Nokia Lumia 1000.

the Lumia 1000 runs Windows 8 and it features a 41 Mega Pixel sensor just like in Nokia 808 pureview.this device also has the pureview camera technology.

Surveillance Camera Demo

Nokia developer has been released the Surveillance Camera for both Symbian and Windows Phone as a demonstration of the LIVE notification API between the two systems.

the application for Windows Phone has been developed using Ms.Silverlight and Symbian application has been developed using Nokia Qt.In this demonstration, Nokia has set a  Windows phone with a notification service that sends an alert that is received by the Symbian device via the Real Time notification API.

Nokia Ovi Share will be shutdown on 30th May

If you uploaded any content on Ovi share,its time to get them back Nokia says the closing of this Ovi share service was a business decision and will focus on Windows Phone.bad days for Symbian maybe just started.anything refer to Symbian these days, Nokia will slowly begin winding down and eventually shutting down related services.

Mozilla Released Firefox for Meego (N9)

Hey Guys Mozilla released Firefox browser for N9.it's not exactly same like desktop version but t’s quite good, a little hiccups in places but could possibly be rather awesome should flash appear next week.

Drag left to see tabs and drag right to see navigation and settings. The main page (when opening new tab) shows up your bookmarks. All pages are loaded up as the desktop version, so fonts are small (to an extend readable). You’ve got some neat options for plugins to make the text larger (as well as other FF plugins like adblock that should help load times).

I will need to test this out more, perhaps the random lags might be something else (bad internet connection perhaps? Mine does tend to die around midnight).

Nokia announces PureView 808 with a 41 MP Camera

Today  the 1st day of Mobile World Congress Nokia  brought the PureView teaser to a thrilling 41 megapixel end, announcing the Symbian Belle-running Nokia PureView 808.
The Nokia 808 Pure View uses a 41 MP sensor, which captures image data from seven adjacent pixels and condenses it into one, resulting in stills at around 5 MP resolution with amazing detail and low noise levels. The optics are Carl Zeiss and there's Xenon flash and a LED one acting as a video light.
Technically the sensor is able to capture 3 MP, 5 MP, 8 MP, 38 MP at 4:3 aspect ratio and 2 MP, 5 MP [Default], 8 MP, 34 MP at 16:9.
Video recording goes as high as Full HD 1080p at 30 fps and there's also 720p@30fps. Video is encoded in H264 and supports stereo sound recording. The large image sensor allows 4x zoom in 1080p and 6x in 720p.

The Nokia 808 PureView has a single-core 1.3 GHz processor and 512 MB RAM and runs on Symbian Belle. The display is a 16:9 4" AMOLED of nHD (640 x 360) resolution covered with curved Gorilla Glass.
Inside there's NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, USB on the go and 16 GB of onboard storage.
The Nokia 808 PureView should arrive on the shelves around May 2012.
